September 2019 “Farm to Village” Dinner To Benefit MANNA Food Bank

The Historic Biltmore Village Association announced that this year’s “Farm to Village – Dining Under the Stars” event will take place on Thursday, September 5th at 6pm on Boston Way in Asheville’s storied Biltmore Village, with tickets now available on eventbrite.

Each September, Historic Biltmore Village businesses and volunteers come together to host the Farm to Village dinner in celebration of the unique history and personality of the Village community and its connection to local farms. Guests dine under the stars at a 150-foot long feasting table set in the middle of Boston Way in the Village. Cocktails begin at 6pm, dinner at 7pm, and live music will be provided by local favorite Texas Peat.

The 2019 planning committee, comprised of Biltmore Village restaurant and business owners and other event sponsors, aim to connect diners with the farmers and chefs represented at the dinner through a pop-up market concept. Diners will be able to stroll from booth to booth during the cocktail hour to visit with the farmers and chefs while enjoying food samples prepared by the restaurants from the ingredients provided by local farms. Then dinner will be served, with each course accompanied by the presenting chef’s explanation of how the ingredients made their way from a local farm to their dish.

Last year’s event won a Stoobie Award for Best Fancy Meal of the Year, a distinction presented by Stu Helm, founder of the awards, and Ashvegas. “When it came time to select the nominees and winner for my 2018 Fancy Meal of the Year award, the Dining Under the Stars dinner hosted by Historic Biltmore Village was first and foremost on my mind,” said Helm. “What I expected to be a stuffy, formal meal with prolonged moments of boredom broken up occasionally by food, turned out to be the most enjoyable, delicious, unique, fun and elegant dinner of the year!”

Tickets are $115 per person, which includes food and alcohol, and capacity for the event is limited to only 150 individuals; last year’s event sold out in less than a week, so interested attendees are recommended to purchase tickets without delay. In case of rain, the dinner event will go on in the same location with tent covering.

Tickets can be booked online here. Proceeds from the event support MANNA Foodbank and their efforts to feed those in need in the Western North Carolina.

Food and beverages will be provided by The Cantina Fresh Mex and Tequila Bar; Corner Kitchen; Dining Innovations, the exclusive caterer for DoubleTree by Hilton Asheville Biltmore; Hillman Beer; Margaret & Maxwell: A Wine Salon; Red Stag Grill; Grand Bohemian Hotel in Biltmore Village; Rezaz Mediterranean Restaurant & Wine Bar; and Village Wayside Bar and Grille.

Local farms represented at this year’s meal include Carolina Flowers, Urban Farm Girl, Never Ending Flower Farm, Blue Ridge Blooms, and Flourish Flower Farm and many more to come.

This year’s event is sponsored by Ecolab, Inspired Design, Mtn Merch, and Oppenheimer & Co, Inc.

Corner Kitchen is proud to be part of Asheville's vibrant food scene and...don't forget that parking is free in the village (and very abundant during dinner service)!
