You may have met our November Human of Corner Kitchen if you’ve dined with us for brunch on the weekends! Let’s learn a little more about Sam!
How long have you worked for Corner Kitchen & what’s your current role?
I have worked for Corner Kitchen coming up on two months now. I work as a busser and I am also the food runner for Saturday and Sunday brunch.
What is your favorite meal you’ve had at Corner Kitchen?
My favorite meal is the corned beef hash and my close second is Chef Crow’s famous chicken and waffles.
What is one of your passions outside of work?
One of my biggest passions outside of work is going bowling. My younger brothers got me into the sport so I go with them often. It’s also a great way to go do something fun with friends.
Where in Asheville would you recommend folks visit?
One of my favorite experiences in Asheville is Sauna House. If you’re willing to spend money and go out of your comfort zone, you can have a very therapeutic experience. You cycle between a sauna and a very cold pool which has amazing affects on your circulation and breathing. One of my favorite places for a sweet treat is Hole Donuts in West Asheville. They cook and serve hot donuts right in front of you!
If you could travel anywhere in the world for a food experience, where would you go and what would you want to try?
If I could travel anywhere in the world for a food experience, I would go to Japan. I’m a big fan of sushi, ramen, tempura, etc., so I would love to try it in an authentic setting.
