Sarah has been behind some of the cocktail and wine discoveries you may have had if you’ve visited us in the past year, and she’s also such a positive presence in the restaurant. You’d be hard-pressed to catch her without a smile, even in a dinner rush.

What is your position in the restaurant, and how did you end up here at Chestnut?
I am an Assistant General Manager here. I was applying for jobs in Asheville and came across the listing. I didn’t realize what a staple The Corner Kitchen was when I first applied, but I am beyond thrilled to be a part of this team.
Can you talk a little about what you’re passionate about outside of what you do for work?
I have a kitten and she is my whole world! I also love all things wine and cocktails. Wine is fascinating because you can travel the world in a wine glass, and I have fun making my own bitters.
Are you an Asheville native, or alternatively what brought you here?
I am a Jersey girl at heart and I recently moved here from Florida. Classic half-back!
What’s the most valuable thing you’ve learned working in a restaurant(s)?
The most valuable thing I have learned is how to connect with different kinds of people. I have worked alongside accomplished chefs to high schoolers and everyone in between and have learned from every one of them.
Do you have any food-related recommendations for people in the Asheville area?
There are so many great restaurants, purveyors, and breweries here, so don’t go to the same place twice — unless it’s Corner Kitchen!
