Rose is a sunny presence in the restaurant, and someone whose likeness you’ve seen countless times around Asheville if you’ve been here for a certain amount of time – read through her answers to see why!

How long have you worked for Corner Kitchen, and what’s your current position?
I’ve worked here for a little over a year and a half! I am a new server and also hostess.
Are you an Asheville local, or alternatively what brought you here?
I am a local, I’ve lived here my whole life and it was a wonderful place to grow up in!
What is your favorite dish you’ve had at the restaurant?
Definitely Chef Mouser’s fried cauliflower appetizer that we served last summer, flash fried and tossed in a delicious aioli with pesto drizzle and bright pink watermelon radishes!! So good.
What life lessons has working in the service industry taught you?
So much. To always be a helping hand, to continue to grow and support my peers, and that hard work really does pay off.
If you could only pick two or three places for foodies to try in Asheville, what would you suggest?
I would suggest Thai Orchid downtown. I have always loved them and will always support their amazing cuisine. Another fave is Mamacita’s – such good quality Mexican food and the owners are awesome!
What is your biggest passion(s) outside the restaurant?
Definitely being with loved ones and doing art! I love to work with pottery and throw on the wheel, it’s something I’m passionate about and love.
Anything else to add?
I am the “early girl” from the Early Girl logo! My mom designed the logo when I was about 3-4 years old, so that’s a fun fact about me.
