How long have you worked for Corner Kitchen & what’s your role?
I have been at Corner Kitchen for 5 months and I am a Sous Chef.
What is your favorite meal you’ve made at Corner Kitchen?
My favorite meal that I have cooked here is definitely the lobster mushroom and risotto dish. Features of the day are usually my favorite dishes because of the creativity.
What lessons have you learned while working in the service industry?
I have learned so many lessons being in the service industry for half my life but the one that sticks with me the most is “leave it at the back door” and focus on creating great food.
What is one of your passions outside of work?
I love making cheese outside of work and gardening has to be my all time favorite. It is something my wife and I share a love of.
What got you started as a chef?
I worked my way up from the dish pit at 15.
Where do you find inspiration for your food?
I was brought up in Charleston, SC. The food scene and ingredients, as well as the fresh food we have access to in WNC continue to inspire my cooking.
Where in Asheville would you recommend people to visit?
If you could travel anywhere in the world for a food experience, where would you go and what would you want to try?
Mexico would be my destination food trip! I would love to experience their food first hand.
