Humans of Corner Kitchen is a continuing blog piece we run each month about a staff member in our restaurant.
My name is Faith and I’m a Line Cook at Corner Kitchen.
How long have you worked for Corner Kitchen?
I’ve been with Corner Kitchen for 19 months now.
What’s the best meal you’ve had at Corner Kitchen?
The best meal I’ve had, and also my favorite dish, would have to be the mustard rubbed duck breast with sweet potato bacon hash and French beans. It was the first meal I had here at CK and I’ll never forget it!
What kitchen tool could you not live without?
I would have to say that a can opener would be the one tool I couldn’t live without. I couldn’t imagine having a dedicated knife for opening cans. Yikes!
If you could only have one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Chicken Wings. As long as I can come up with different ways to cook and season them, I’m golden.
What’s the worst meal you’ve ever had?
My family went to one of the nicer restaurants in town. I ordered the London Broil, one of my favorites, and proceeded to accidentally drop half my dish on the ground. I was 13 at the time and completely humiliated and sad :(.
What’s your favorite food movie?
My favorite food movie would have to be Chef. It’s a story about a Chef and his son and how they reconnect by starting up a food truck together.
What is the funniest thing that has happened to you recently?
I laugh things off quite a bit. I always find it funny that when my uber driver arrives, he is always looking for a woman, because to my knowledge, no one has even met a man named Faith. Just the other day I had to chase my driver down Coxe Ave. Never gets old.
What’s the last thing you watched on TV and why did you choose to watch it?
I just recently started watching a new show called Troy: A Fallen City on Netflix. I’ve always liked movies and documentaries on historical events,. It’s always interesting to see how people used to live their lives. Of course it is drama and can be exaggerated, but that’s the fun in it..
