Meet Collin, Corner Kitchen’s newest brunch sous chef and our featured Humans of the Month for September! We’re thrilled to have Collin leading our brunch team and can’t wait to see the creative flair he brings to our menu. Get to know more about Collin and his culinary experience as you read on.
Where are you from?
I’m from Durham, North Carolina.
How did you get into culinary? What inspires you?
I used to love watching cooking shows when I was younger like Chefs Table.
When did you start cooking?
I used to cook dinner with my mom several times a week and help out with large gatherings like Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Did you go to school anywhere? If so where?
I went two UNCA for two years and then dropped out when COVID hit.😬
What do you love most about cooking?
I love entering a flow like state…that feeling of pure focus manifested into action.
What’s been your past experience in cooking? Where were you before this?
I started out washing dishes at Tupelo Honey, within two years I had learned every station on the line and was promoted to sous chef.

I’m a Libra.
Are you a dog or cat person?
I like both. I currently have a tabby cat named Bean.
What do you like to do for fun?
I enjoy disc golf, ping pong, and seeing live music.
What’s something on your bucket list?
I’d love to travel to the Amazon Rainforest.
What’s your favorite dish here?
The Peach & Burrata salad with grilled chicken is my favorite dish right now.
