How long have you worked for CK? I have worked at the Corner Kitchen for 8 years.
What is your favorite dish at CK? The lobster fettuccine with tomato fondue.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be? I would love to travel to Spain to see my Favorite Football Team Real Madrid.
What life lessons have you learned from working in the service industry? I have learned a lot through my years in the industry, that every person has a story and to treat every person with respect and kindness because you don’t know what they have gone through in there life.
What has your most memorable experience with a guest been? The most memorable thing would be when I used to cook for Joe Bly, he was always very happy when I made his dinner. He cared a lot about my son, always asked about him and gave him a cookbook so he can learn to cook when he grows up.
A story about a favorite regular… A gentleman named Jose Rivera comes in twice a year and always sits at the chef’s bar. He loves our food and loves to talk in Spanish with me. We always have a lot of fun joking and laughing. Over the years I have gotten to know him and look forward to his visits.
If the President was coming in (past or present) and you could cook them one thing, what would it be? I would like to cook for Obama. I would cook grilled Mahi Mahi with bacon scallion butter, garlic wilted swiss chard and sweet potato bisque
Someone you would love to cook for? What would you cook them? I would love to cook for my Mom. She is in El Salvador and I have not seen her in 10 years. For her, I would cook butter poached lobster with crispy Parisian potatoes, melted leeks and carrots and blood orange Buer Blanc.
